LEGO

History

Lego was founded by Ole Kirk Christiansen in 1932, but originally, it was a wooden toy company. It got its name in 1934, from the danish phrase "Leg Godt", which means "play well" in english. The Lego Company first started making its iconic plastic brick in 1949.

Sets

LEGO is known for its elaborate sets, containing thousands of pieces and resulting in a giant finished product. Here are some of my favourite:

The Millenium Falcon (7541 pieces)

This set is a replica of the famous starship from Star Wars. For a few years, it was the biggest lego set ever made, and it includes 9 minfigures like Han Solo and C-3PO.

Voltron (2321 pieces)

This giant robot is based on the Voltron tv show from the 1980s. It features five seperate robotic lions which you make indivually. Then, you can attach them together to make one giant robot. For example, the blue and yellow lions make the feet while the red and green lions make the arms. The black lion makes the body.

Titanic (9090 pieces)

The Lego Titanic is a lego version of the infamous boat that sank in the pacific. It is a whopping 1.35 m long and features almost the exact same interior as the real Titanic!

Avengers Tower (5201 pieces)

This is the Lego Avengers Tower. From the Avengers movies and comics, it is the headquarters of the Avengers, and does not disapoint. It is almost a meter tall and contains minifigures of almost all the avengers, including Iron Man, Captain America and a abnormally sized hulk.
